5S - Organized Space, Steady Efficiency

In today’s modern work environment, efficiency and professionalism are not solely determined by individual capabilities but also by the workspace itself. Recognizing this, Sakata Inx Vietnam Co., Ltd. (SIV) organized a 5S methodology sharing session for relevant employees to enhance work efficiency, optimize production processes, and foster a structured and sustainable workplace culture.

With the motto “Organized Space – Steady Efficiency” the session not only provided valuable knowledge but also motivated employees to change their mindset and work habits proactively.

What is 5S?

5S is a leading Japanese management methodology that focuses on eliminating waste, organizing space effectively, and maintaining a structured work environment. The five principles of 5S include:

  • Sort (Seiri) – Eliminate unnecessary items and keep only what is truly useful.
  • Set in Order (Seiton) – Arrange everything logically for easy access, retrieval, and use.
  • Shine (Seiso) – Maintain a clean workspace to enhance workplace safety.
  • Standardize (Seiketsu) – Establish standardized procedures to ensure adherence to the first three S’s.
  • Sustain (Shitsuke) – Develop a disciplined habit, making 5S an integral part of corporate culture.

5S – The Key to an Efficient Workplace

When combined with the 5W1H methodology, 5S not only optimizes workspace organization and minimizes waste but also fosters motivation, enhances productivity, and ensures employee safety. This serves as a solid foundation for building a professional, structured, and long-term efficient working environment.

Under the direct guidance of Mr. Ho Minh Vu -  Factory Director, the training session went beyond theoretical knowledge by providing employees with hands-on practice in their actual work environment. This practical approach allowed them to experience and apply 5S in the most intuitive and effective manner.

Employees Engaged in Learning

Following the session, many employees gained a deeper understanding of the benefits of 5S and committed to implementing it in their daily tasks from small actions like keeping their desks tidy and organizing tools efficiently to adhering to hygiene and workplace safety principles.

Commitment to 5S Implementation

With the collective dedication and sense of responsibility of all employees, 5S is expected to transcend its role as a management methodology to become a habit, a way of life, and an integral part of SIV’s corporate culture.
